Zoe Polando is a independent animator, illustrator, and designer with a fascination for motion. She graduated from Kansas City Art Institute with a double major in animation and creative writing. Her work reflects her whims, fancies, and daydreams, and she tries to find a glimmer of beautiful in the bleakest of moments. Most recently her film Fishbowl showed internationally at the 2017 International Filmmakers Festival of World Cinema, London, the 2017 Columbia Gorge International Film Festival, and the 2017 Central Michigan International Film Festival. He Sells Sea Shells appeared at the 2016 Jefferson State Flixx Festival, the 2016 Taos Shortz Film Festival, the 2015 North Carolina Film Awards, winning the President's Award, and the 2015 Spring Kansas City Art Institute's Animation and Film Showcase, the Alamo Film Festival.
In addition, her independent filmmaking, Zoe Polando is a medical animator and videographer for an orthopedic clinic. She also does freelance illustration and design for various companies. Her work ranges from world design for games, to technical illustrations, to label design, to animated gifs for advertising.
